Dr. Amber Ufford is a licensed clinical psychologist who treats children, adolescents, and adults. Her specializations include the treatment of depression and mood disorders, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, specific phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder, and disruptive behavior disorders. Additionally, Dr. Ufford sees clients for a variety of life stage difficulties, including parenting, perinatal and postpartum issues, and transitioning to college. Dr. Ufford’s approach to therapy is to collaborate with clients to help them change behavior patterns and build a life in line with their values to improve their overall wellness. Dr. Ufford has expertise in providing various evidence-based treatments. She is a certified Within Agency Trainer and certified therapist in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) from PCIT International. Additionally, Dr. Ufford has received comprehensive training in Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (E/RP), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), in addition to traditional Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). Dr. Ufford often blends mindfulness-based treatments such as DBT and ACT within her individual CBT work. She received her B.A. with Honors in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Hofstra University.
